The Orbital Nightstand – Open Series introduces a sculptural balance of concealment and display within the Hulmara collection. Retaining our signature hand-shaped curved frame and rounded interior transitions, this iteration carves out a substantial negative space beneath the top drawer.

Now elevated on integrated solid spherical legs, Orbital gains subtle lift while preserving a grounded bedside height. The 6 cm reveal below the cabinet softens the mass without making the piece feel tall or delicate — it remains visually anchored and architectural.

The open gallery below the drawer serves as a stage for the bedside ritual — ideal for stacked art books, a carafe and glass, or a sculptural object. The softened interior corners echo the rounded legs, creating a cohesive, orbital silhouette from every angle.

Finished from Every Angle

In mass production, open niches often reveal cost-cutting truths — unfinished veneers, raw substrates, or exposed joinery in the shadows. Hulmara rejects this.

The interior of the niche is finished to the same exacting standard as the exterior façade, crafted from Solid Kiln-Dried Oak and hand-sanded smooth. The grain flows uninterrupted through the curved inner walls, creating a seamless, furniture-grade backdrop for display.

The single top drawer provides essential privacy for bedside technology and personal items, gliding on concealed, heavy-duty soft-close undermount slides rated at 50 kg.

The Hulmara Build Standard

Despite its open architecture and sculptural lift, Orbital remains a heavyweight anchor. The cabinet body is engineered from thick solid-wood structural framing to resist vibration, racking, and tipping.

Each spherical leg (15 cm diameter) is internally reinforced and mechanically secured into hardwood mounting blocks. For the 38" model, a concealed center support foot provides additional structural integrity and prevents long-term deflection.

Every unit is load-tested to ensure the open shelf maintains structural stability over decades of use.

As with the entire Orbital line, each piece is crate-packed in reinforced honeycomb structures and ships fully insured, ensuring its curved profiles and seamless transitions arrive in gallery-ready condition.
