Terms of Sale
Terms of Sale
Last updated: 27th July 2026
These Terms of Sale apply to all orders placed with Hulmara through www.hulmara.com, by email, invoice, payment link, or any other approved sales channel.
Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order. By placing an order with Hulmara, you agree to these Terms, together with our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy, Shipping Policy, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any product-specific information shown or confirmed to you before purchase.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
1. About Hulmara
Hulmara is a furniture and interior design brand specialising in made-to-order furniture and related interior pieces.
Hulmara PTE is a trading name, a company registered in Singapore.
Email: contact@hulmara.com
2. Consumer and trade orders
These Terms apply to consumer orders unless expressly stated otherwise.
Trade, interior design, commercial, hospitality, contract, bulk, or business-to-business orders may be subject to separate Trade Terms, written quotations, invoices, or commercial agreements. Where separate trade or commercial terms are agreed in writing, those terms will take priority over these consumer Terms where they conflict.
If you purchase on behalf of a business, company, studio, project, or commercial client, you confirm that you have authority to place the order.
3. Product information
We make reasonable efforts to describe Hulmara products accurately, including their materials, dimensions, finishes, colours, configuration, and production details.
Images, renders, swatches, samples, photographs, and videos are provided for guidance only. Colours and finishes may appear differently depending on lighting, screen settings, photography, natural material variation, and hand-finishing.
For made-to-order pieces, the final approved blueprint, specification, written confirmation, or invoice forms the main product specification for your order.
4. Made-to-order furniture
Most Hulmara pieces are made to order. They are not standard stock items and are produced individually according to the specification confirmed for your order.
Your piece may be made according to details such as size, finish, material, configuration, upholstery, layout, proportions, or other specifications selected, requested, or approved by you.
Because made-to-order and bespoke pieces are produced for you personally, they cannot usually be restocked or resold once production has been authorised.
5. Blueprint approval
After your order is placed, Hulmara may prepare a production blueprint, drawing, render, technical document, or written specification showing the final details of your piece.
This will be sent to you for approval before production begins or before the order is released to the workshop.
You are responsible for checking the blueprint and specification carefully, including dimensions, finish, configuration, proportions, orientation, access requirements, delivery details, and any other relevant details.
Approving the blueprint confirms your final specification and authorises Hulmara to begin the made-to-order production process.
6. Blueprint approval wording
The following wording may appear in the blueprint approval email, approval form, invoice, or order confirmation:
“Approving this blueprint confirms your final specification and authorises Hulmara to begin preparing your made-to-order piece for production. After approval, cancellations are subject to a production preparation and cancellation charge of up to 30% of the order value, reflecting the reasonable costs and losses incurred once your approved specification is released for production. Please approve only once you have checked all dimensions, finishes, configuration, access requirements, and specifications carefully.”
7. Customer-approved specifications
Production is based on the final blueprint, written specification, invoice, or order confirmation approved by you.
If your piece is made according to the approved specification, Hulmara cannot accept a return, cancellation, or refund because you later decide that the approved size, finish, layout, configuration, proportions, or design are unsuitable.
If Hulmara manufactures something materially different from the approved specification, Hulmara will correct the issue at no cost to you.
8. Changes after approval
After blueprint approval, changes may not be possible.
If you request a change after approval, Hulmara will decide whether the change can reasonably be made. Any approved change may affect the price, production time, shipping time, or technical feasibility of the order.
Hulmara is not required to accept changes after blueprint approval.
9. Prices
Prices are shown on the website, quotation, invoice, or payment page.
We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing errors, product description errors, shipping errors, discount errors, or technical errors before accepting or fulfilling an order.
If a material error affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you before proceeding. If you do not wish to continue at the corrected price or specification, you may cancel and receive a refund of any amount paid, unless production has already been approved and the error was not caused by Hulmara.
10. Payment
Payment terms are shown at checkout, on the invoice, or confirmed in writing.
Some orders may require full payment at the time of purchase. Other orders may be eligible for staged payment or instalments.
Where staged payment applies, your order may be prepared, designed, or released for production after the first instalment has been paid.
The full remaining balance must be paid before dispatch, delivery, release of goods, or handover to the carrier. Hulmara is not required to ship, release, or deliver any item until the full balance due has been received.
If a balance payment is overdue, Hulmara may pause production, delay dispatch, apply reasonable storage charges, or cancel the order in accordance with these Terms.
11. Order acceptance
An order is accepted when Hulmara confirms acceptance in writing, issues an order confirmation, issues an invoice, receives payment, or otherwise begins processing the order.
An automated order confirmation does not prevent Hulmara from correcting obvious errors, refusing an order, or cancelling an order where necessary.
Hulmara may refuse or cancel an order where there is a payment issue, pricing error, stock or production issue, suspected fraud, incorrect information, delivery restriction, or other legitimate reason.
12. Production times
Production times are estimates unless expressly confirmed in writing as guaranteed.
Made-to-order production may be affected by material availability, workshop scheduling, technical requirements, hand-finishing, quality control, public holidays, supplier delays, shipping availability, customs clearance, or circumstances outside Hulmara’s reasonable control.
Hulmara will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed of significant delays.
13. Natural materials and handmade characteristics
Hulmara works with natural materials, including solid oak and other natural finishes.
Natural variation in grain, colour, tone, knots, figure, texture, mineral streaks, medullary rays, and patterning is part of the material and is not a fault.
Solid wood may move slightly with temperature and humidity. Minor seasonal movement, expansion, contraction, and natural ageing of the finish are normal characteristics of solid wood furniture.
Handmade and hand-finished pieces may show minor variations from samples, renders, swatches, photographs, or previous pieces.
Finished dimensions may vary slightly from the stated dimensions, typically within ±5 mm, unless a different tolerance is expressly confirmed in writing.
This section does not excuse material defects, incorrect production, or products that are materially different from the approved specification.
14. Customer measurements, fit, and access
You are responsible for ensuring that the item is suitable for your intended space and that it can be delivered through the required access route.
Before placing your order and before approving your blueprint, you must check room dimensions, doorways, corridors, staircases, lifts, ceiling height, turning space, building access, parking restrictions, and any other delivery constraints.
Hulmara cannot accept returns, cancellations, or refunds where an item does not fit because of incorrect customer measurements, unsuitable access, building restrictions, or a specification approved by the customer.
If you are unsure, please contact Hulmara before approving your blueprint.
15. Delivery
Delivery times are estimates unless expressly confirmed in writing as guaranteed.
Delivery may be carried out by Hulmara, a courier, a freight carrier, a specialist delivery partner, or another logistics provider.
Large, heavy, fragile, or oversized pieces may require sea freight, pallet delivery, curbside delivery, scheduled delivery, or special handling.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, delivery does not include installation, assembly, wall fixing, removal of old furniture, disposal of packaging, lifting through windows, hoisting, or special access equipment.
16. Delivery address and contact information
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery details, including name, address, postcode, telephone number, email address, access instructions, and any other information needed for delivery.
Hulmara is not responsible for delays, failed delivery, storage charges, return charges, redelivery charges, customs issues, or non-delivery caused by incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by you.
17. Failed or refused delivery
If delivery cannot be completed because no one is available, access is unsuitable, delivery is refused without valid reason, the address is incorrect, or required information has not been provided, additional redelivery, return, storage, or handling charges may apply.
If an item is returned to Hulmara or held by a carrier because delivery failed for reasons outside Hulmara’s control, Hulmara may deduct reasonable costs before issuing any refund that may be due.
18. Customs, duties, and import charges
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, Hulmara ships international orders on a Delivery Duty Paid basis.
This means Hulmara is responsible for standard shipping costs, export handling, import customs clearance, import duties, import taxes, and standard customs charges required to deliver the order to the delivery address provided by the customer.
Customers should not normally be charged import duties or import taxes by the carrier on delivery for orders shipped Delivery Duty Paid.
If a carrier mistakenly requests import duties or taxes on delivery, please contact Hulmara before making payment so we can review the issue with the carrier.
Delivery Duty Paid does not cover additional costs caused by incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by the customer, failed delivery attempts, customer unavailability, refusal of delivery without valid reason, failure to provide information required for customs clearance or delivery, special delivery requests, building access restrictions, storage requested or caused by the customer, or changes to the delivery address after dispatch.
Customs inspections, import clearance checks, port delays, carrier delays, strikes, severe weather, force majeure events, or other circumstances outside Hulmara’s reasonable control may affect delivery times.
These delays do not automatically create a right to cancel or receive a refund, except where required by applicable law.
.
19. Risk and ownership
Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods are delivered to the delivery address provided by you, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Ownership of the goods passes to you only when Hulmara has received full payment of all amounts due, including product price, delivery charges, storage charges, customs-related charges where applicable, and any other agreed fees.
20. Cancellations before blueprint approval
You may cancel your order free of charge at any time before approving your blueprint.
This includes the first 48 hours after placing your order, provided that blueprint approval has not yet been given.
If you cancel before blueprint approval, Hulmara will refund the amount paid to your original payment method.
21. Cancellations after blueprint approval
Once you approve your blueprint, your order is released for made-to-order production.
After blueprint approval, cancellations are subject to a production preparation and cancellation charge of up to 30% of the order value.
This charge reflects the reasonable costs and losses Hulmara incurs once a made-to-order piece has been approved for production, including design work, blueprint preparation, technical specification, administration, reserved workshop capacity, reserved materials, supplier commitments, and loss of production opportunity.
The charge will not exceed 30% of the order value unless additional costs have been expressly agreed in writing.
Any balance remaining after the applicable cancellation charge will be refunded to your original payment method.
22. No change-of-mind cancellation after production is substantially underway
Once production is substantially underway, a made-to-order piece may no longer be cancellable for change of mind.
This includes circumstances where materials have been committed, components have been customised, finishing has begun, specialist work has been scheduled, or the item has been made in whole or in part to your approved specification.
This does not affect your statutory rights if your piece arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect, or not as described.
23. Bespoke goods and cooling-off rights
Made-to-order and bespoke goods that are made to your specification or clearly personalised are exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off cancellation right.
This means that, once your made-to-order item has been approved for production, it cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded for change of mind unless Hulmara agrees otherwise in writing.
This does not affect your rights if your item arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect, or not as described.
24. Returns and refunds
Returns, refunds, cancellations, transit damage, faulty items, incorrect items, and non-arrival are handled in accordance with Hulmara’s Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy.
That policy forms part of these Terms.
25. Damaged, faulty, incorrect, or not as described items
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
If your item arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect, or not as described, please contact Hulmara as soon as possible at contact@hulmara.com with your order number, photographs, and a clear description of the issue.
Where a valid issue is confirmed, Hulmara will provide the remedy required by applicable law. This may include repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund, depending on the timing, nature, and seriousness of the issue.
26. Non-arrival
If your order has not arrived within 90 days of the confirmed dispatch date, and the delay is not caused by incorrect shipping information, failed delivery attempts, customs delays, force majeure, or circumstances outside Hulmara’s reasonable control, you may choose either a full refund or a replacement shipment at no additional cost.
27. What Hulmara is not responsible for
Hulmara is not responsible for:
- incorrect measurements supplied or approved by the customer;
- unsuitable access or delivery restrictions;
- incorrect or incomplete delivery information;
- damage caused after delivery by third parties;
- damage caused by misuse, accident, neglect, or improper care;
- exposure to excessive heat, moisture, dryness, sunlight, or humidity changes;
- use of unsuitable cleaning products;
- normal wear and tear;
- natural movement or variation in solid wood;
- delays caused by customs, carriers, ports, strikes, weather, force majeure, or events outside Hulmara’s reasonable control.
This does not limit any liability that cannot legally be limited.
28. Care and maintenance
You are responsible for caring for your Hulmara piece in accordance with any care instructions provided.
Failure to follow care instructions may affect your ability to claim for damage or deterioration caused by misuse, unsuitable conditions, or improper maintenance.
29. Intellectual property
All website content, product images, renders, drawings, blueprints, product descriptions, layouts, logos, graphics, designs, and technical documents belong to Hulmara or are licensed to Hulmara unless otherwise stated.
Blueprints, drawings, renders, technical documents, quotations, and specifications prepared by Hulmara are provided solely for the purpose of confirming your Hulmara order.
They must not be copied, reproduced, adapted, shared with third-party manufacturers, or used to produce similar goods without Hulmara’s prior written consent.
30. Website use
You must not misuse this website by introducing viruses, scraping content, attempting unauthorised access, copying content for commercial use, interfering with the website, or using it in a way that may damage Hulmara or other users.
31. Privacy
Hulmara processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
By placing an order, contacting Hulmara, or using the website, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed as described in those policies.
32. Complaints
If you have a complaint, please contact Hulmara at contact@hulmara.com.
Please include your order number, full name, contact details, photographs where relevant, and a clear description of the issue.
Hulmara will try to resolve complaints fairly and within a reasonable time.
33. Alternative dispute resolution
If we are unable to resolve a consumer complaint after our internal complaints process has been completed, we will provide information about an appropriate alternative dispute resolution body where required by law and will confirm whether Hulmara is willing or required to use that ADR process.
Nothing in this clause affects your right to bring a claim before a court of competent jurisdiction.
34. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hulmara is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or business losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, project delay, or third-party costs.
For consumers, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
35. Force majeure
Hulmara is not responsible for delay or failure to perform obligations where this is caused by events outside its reasonable control.
This may include natural disasters, extreme weather, war, civil unrest, strikes, port delays, customs delays, supplier disruption, transport disruption, epidemics, pandemics, government action, fire, flood, or other force majeure events.
36. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
37. Changes to these Terms
Hulmara may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms that apply to your order are the Terms in force at the time your order is placed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you in writing.
38. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence under mandatory local consumer protection laws.
If you are a business, trade, commercial, hospitality, contract, or B2B customer, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
39. Mandatory legal rights
Nothing in these Terms limits, excludes, or reduces any rights that cannot legally be limited, excluded, or reduced.
